As I made my rounds on one of the most anticipated nights of Fashion Week — Fashion’s Night Out (those on twitter #FNO09) — I knew the night was going to overflow with excitement when I reached Broadway/Lafayette and saw a slew of women changing from there everyday flats to their Louboutins and Chanels. Socialites, magazine press, bloggers and photographers seemed to travel in packs to see and be seen. As I tweeted (@sigourney) my where abouts throughout the city– myself and blog writers J. Dwayne (www.werqout.com) and Sade Jane (www.the7sense.com) — eased to some of the most sought out events of the night! While some boutiques were packed (A Bathing Ape) and others were particularly empty (Brooklyn Industries) the energy levels remained constant.

When walking in the streets of Soho you never know who you will bump into as I did Patricia Fields outside of Payless. At Chanel on Woosterwhere they were providing free manicures in their fall season color hues, we received word that Rihanna would be making an appearance at Intermix. Upon entering the Spring St. store there were visual artists who were hand painting original artwork on mannequins (as seen below). We spotted RiRi and had to approach. Poses were given. Pictures were taken. After meeting the beautifully talented—and stylish— singer, we moved onto our very own FASHION NIGHT OUT WRAP-UP EVENT at SUBMERCER where the Trace staff and favorites danced and mingled the night away!
