Azumi and David Percival Yamashita, the two designers behind London-based brand A’N'D have a very distinctive approach to the arts. These Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design alumni emerged in the mid-90s with an exclusive set of poetry books and performance art - during one show the couple walked around London’s Tate Gallery wearing sandwich boards. This Japanese-British duo has time and time again proved their tremendous creative abilities. With their first collection in 1999, they added a much needed touch of humor to the world of fashion. Their “things to wear”, as they like to call their creations, are as inventive as they are unusual. From their adorable safety pin necklaces, to their key shaped brooches, A’N'D create accessories and clothes with fresh and unique designs that will please every die-hard fashionista. I love the black leather bag with a heel shaped bottom! Check them out here.

Daft Toy    11.08.2007

daftpunk.jpg 2007 definitively marked the return of mythical electro geniuses Daft Punk. After the commercial failure of Human After All and a 2 year hiatus, the duo killed it this year. They took us Around The World with more sold out concerts than you could wish for and remixes for artists like Ed Banger’s DJ Mehdi. But wait, the best is yet to come! We all know that the Japanese love to do things their own way, so to celebrate the release of the highly anticipated Alive on December 5th, Medicom Toy is unleashing a collectors edition of their ever popular Be@rbricks. This is the second collaboration for the French duo and this Tokyo-based toy company. In 2004, Medicom had designed a set of two collectibles that accompanied the Japanese release of Interstella 5555 . Only 3000 of the two round figurines will be produced and sold with the Japanese version of Alive 2007. Needless to say, they will only be available in Japan, but some lucky Parisians will be able to catch them at the ultra-hip boutique Colette. For the rest of us on the other side of the globe, make sure you get your fix of  Alive 2007 on November 19.

Your apartment desperately needs an extreme makeover, but yet you refuse to go through the hassle of painting your walls! Well, I think I found just what you’ve been looking for. I first discovered Vynils during a trip to Paris. I went to my friend’s apartment and saw these amazing crazy green and purple shapes on the walls that gave the room so much character, and I immediately fell in love with them.

Somewhere in between wall paper and graffiti, the Vynils collection, is a fun alternative to your traditional wall ornaments. Eye-popping, and above all user-friendly. In a second, your wall turns into a canvas where your imagination has no limit. You can turn your bedroom into an unique piece of art and make you roommates jealous. They come in all shapes, forms, colors and prices! So put them on your walls, on the floor and even on the ceiling. With designs by Jeremy Scott , Kaws and Fafi - more than 60 artists in total- who can resist these stickies? I’m already sold.
