Not for the faint of heart, the recently releasedomnibus triptych: TOKYO! is an examination of the disparate lives that co-exist withinthedensely populated megalopolis. Michael Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), Leos Carax (Pola X) and Bong Joon-Ho (The Host) individually directed 30-minute segments that collectively create an appealing world of disturbia that proves to be a fantastical web of ambition, dementia, and love. Following in the artistic pedigree of 2006’s Paris Je T’aime, TOKYO! asks the undying question: Do we shape our cities, or do our cities shape us? Team Gondry, Carax and Joon-Ho don’t shy away from providing answers, and neither should you from checking out this flick. Asia Extreme genre lovers take note: This is a must see!
