Where Is Leslie?

Much like their name, their music is just as unique. One may wonder who, what, or where is Leslie ? “Leslie” is used an obscure pronoun for whatever ones vice may be that allows each individual to make it their own while unifying our human nature, in the way music has done for many ages. Drawing upon youthful influences, their goal is to bridge soul, rock, and hip hop into a medium like you’ve never heard. Taking pride in their lyrical content and innovative melodies, they aim to tell the stories that each of us share and open the third eye of perspective.

Where did you grow up?

ZIPP: I grew up in the Windsor Hills area of Los Angeles. Moving about 3 times since birth, my mother always kept us in the same one mile radius.

MIR: I was born in the bay (San Francisco) and then raised in East Oakland and Berkeley while my mom was in school. It wasn’t until I was 9 or 10 that I moved to LA. I was in the bay back and forth because my entire family is there.

How did you become interested in the Arts?

ZIPP: I was born with a creative soul. I have always been attracted to anything that appealed to my imagination. I loved arts and crafts in school, painting, poetry, music, etc. I have to attribute a lot of my interest to my family for exposing me to many different cultures, their music, their art and lifestyles.

MIR: I always was from a child and then went to an arts focused school. So it just helped to further my interests. I would say my first fascination was with my tape deck I would just listen to songs over and over and memorize the words. Best gift I ever got was when I was 5 and got a jimney cricket karaoke kit. It snowballed from there. Once I found musicals it was over. To this day whenever I’m mad I put on Rent or Aida and just go. Read more
