Give Peace A Chance
They were in room 1742 at Montreal’s prestigious Queen Elizabeth hotel, when John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono premiered Lennon’s epic “Give peace a chance” in 1969. Forty years later the city’s Museum of Fine Arts is paying a vibrant homage to the couple with the installation Imagine: The Peace Ballad of John and Yoko.
For this one-of-a- kind event which feature 140 works by both artists, the museum teamed up with Lennon’s widow. The multi-disciplinary exhibit includes drawings, photographs, videos -and more - dealing with the idea of peace, a theme that was at the very heart of the couple’s bed-in.
The installation is on display until June 21 and it’s absolutely FREE!
“It’s time for Action. Action is Peace. I love you.” Yoko
